To the south of the picture hill, a large cream-colored flagstone lies under the water, looking like a piece of new yellow cloth extended on the riverbed. This is how Yellow Cloth Shoal got its name. The waters here is gentle and clean with the clear feflection of the clouds and hills. It is the best place to view the reflection of peaks in the water.There is a poem saying that “the top of the green hills can be seen overthere, however the boats are moving on the top the green hills”. In 2000, People' Bank of China issued the fifth version of Chinese RMB. This is the very place from where the background design on the CNY 20 bank note originates.
Between Yellow Cloth Shoal and Red Cliff Shoal, on both sides of the shoal stand seven elegant peaks, which are of different height and size, resembling seven fairy ladies. A legend tells that the seven peaks are fairy girls from the heaven who took baths in the river. Enthralled by the charming scene, they stayed here and become the peaks. Imaginative people give them the beautiful name of Seven Fairy Maidens Descending to the World.
On the Red Cliff Shoal, you can see  Gloves Hill and the hill scenery of "camel crossing the river". On the head of the camel, there is a kiosk which was donated by a Japanese friend who worked with the farmer workers personally. It reflects the friendly relationship between Chinese and Japanese.
