On the west bank of the Li River, the The stratiform veins that twist up from the bottom to the hill make it look like a big snail. Hence the name Snail Hill. There is a sentence from the pome by Guomo Ru saying that ¡°The green snail was full of rainfalls, so it gave heavy pressure to the river.¡±  At the bottom of the hill, lies Snail Cave. The mouth of the river is wide and bright.Tengjiao Nunnery, was originally built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). It consists of two sections-Sanbao (three treasures) Hall and Kuixing (god that governs literature and writing) Pavilion, which was rebuilt in Qing Dynasty. The most attractive and astonishing sights are the three snail stones which are hanging upside down. One is as white as snow, one is as dark as black lacquer and the other is as green as emerald. It is probable that they may capture your imagination and consider them to be the babies of the big snail (refers to the snail-like hill).
