Its east side faces the Li River and it is the main peak of Yangshuo, so it become the symbol of Yangshuo.One may find the hill silently floating on water like an elegant budding green lotus, forming an enchanting scene.Hence the name Green Lotus Peak.

The best please to appriciate the Green Louts Peak and its reflection in the water is Yangshuo Bridge. At the north of the Green Lotus Peak, there is a cliff flat and smooth, which resembles a mirror in its front view. So people also named it Jianshan Hill (Mirror Hill). There is a building on the hill facing the river. It is a two-flood building with the first flood open. The second flood has one door and seven windows, every of which is a picture,so they are called picture windows. At the east of the building, there is a scenery path with lots of inscriptions on its cliffs.Green Lotus Peak has many inscriptions on its cliffs, in which the 5-meter-long Chinese character "Dai" caved in the Qing dynasty is the most famous. The later generations endowed the character with a meanings "as the river and mountains unfold their greatness before your eyes, young lads, you should work hard to let your name pass down forever."
